Specific Dance Moves to Learn in Class
- Salsa Basic Step
You can stumble upon this dance move not only when you dance salsa, but on other Latin dance types as well. This is done by placing your right foot forward, then step your left foot, and then, you place your right foot back beside your left foot. Then, you’re going to place your left foot backward, then step your right foot, and then place your left foot back beside your right foot.
- Hip Swivel
You will never fully learn Latin dancing if you can’t master the art of hip swivelling. As the move suggests, this is the act of swivelling your hips to the side. Believe me; this dance move is very, very basic, but it requires practice and the right amount of speed and swivel to be able to execute it gracefully.
- Cha-Cha-Cha Basic Step
The Cha-Cha-Cha basic step adopts a unique counting that really makes you giddy when you execute it. As you dance this move, you are going to follow a 1, 2 and cha-cha-cha counting, where the counts 1 and 2 are done slow, and the counts cha-cha-cha are done snappy. As you do this step, you are going to place your right foot forward, then move your left foot forward, and then alternately move the left and right feet to go with the beat.
